Kinship Cellars

Washington wines with an old‑world soul—thoughtfully crafted, small‑batch releases designed to inspire connection from the first pour.

Our Approach

Kinship Cellars crafts elegant, old world-inspired Washington wines with patience and intention. We believe wine is meant to invite discussion, bring people together, and create an experience. Here, at Kinship Cellars, we bring together the rich winemaking history of Europe with the vast potential of Washington terroir.

Meet the Winemaker

Our winemaker, Thomas Gonzenbach, brings a rare blend of hospitality‑honed intuition and deep winemaking experience to our cellar. After years working in restaurants and completing harvests across Napa, Sonoma, the Columbia Valley, and other celebrated American wine regions, he developed a reverence for the balance, restraint, and sense of place found in the old‑world houses that inspire him.

Driven by a belief in Washington’s untapped potential, Thomas set out to craft Chardonnay that showcases the varietal’s full stylistic spectrum. As he puts it, his goal is to “produce wine inspired by Chablis, but wine that is also thoroughly Washingtonian.” Through thoughtful sourcing and a deep respect for the state’s terroir, Kinship Cellars’ wine catalogue now spans beyond the signature Chardonnay but still captures Thomas’ ingenuity of bringing together old world and new terroir. Thomas creates wines that are expressive, balanced, and rooted in place — a modern expression of classic inspiration.
